What is the Amazon Package Test ISTA6 series?
A lot of people don't know about the ISTA 6 series of tests for shipping packaged products. What does this have to do with the International Safe Transportation Association and Amazon?
It starts with ISTA: The International Safe Transportation Association's (ISTA) system of packaging and transportation testing is designed to test whether a product can travel long distances and survive a variety of environmental conditions such as air, ship, rail, road, etc., and still arrive at its destination in good condition and functional condition. ISTA Project 6 Amazon.com-SIOC testing standard is the protocol that Amazon and its suppliers need to follow for their products in the Amazon operating environment. The purpose of the packaging and shipping test is to ensure that the supplier's products can still reach consumers in good condition without using additional packaging provided by Amazon. SIOC packages that meet this test standard will be transported to an Amazon operations Center (FC) for processing and storage, and eventually delivered to the end user through the package shipping system or freight.
The purpose of product testing for ISTA Project 6 testing properly and the obvious benefits are as follows:
Testing the ability of packaged products to resist transportation hazards;
Using the test method of comprehensive simulation to reproduce transport hazards;
Shorten the time to market;
Enhance the confidence of products to market;
Reduce product damage;
